Copan for Windows
Copan for Windows is a functional desktop/laptop  geomatics* engineering tool for computing and managing plane land survey coordinates.
It does numerous coordinate geometry (COGO) calculations, processes and adjusts field survey data, computes and adjusts map traverse data, performs map/deed closure checks, calculates areas and perimeters, performs coordinate transformations, and imports/exports Ascii files. Copan has a nifty COGO tool.
It supports quadrant and whole-circle bearings, south-based and north-based circle bearings, and gons (or grads) as well as degrees-minutes-seconds. It supports Geodimeter, Leica, Wild, Nikon and TDS total station formats.
Coordinate files may be accessed by UGL's version of Windows Free42, an HP-42S simulator program, or copied to a memory card and used directly by the Mobile/Pocket PC and Palm OS versions of Copan.
The software is designed for land surveyors, geodetic engineers, professionals and students and is available for download, completely free of charge.  When a valid email address is provided, you receive a password to unlock the software. You will get news of frequent updates to the software.

*Geomatics - a modern scientific term embracing the traditional areas of Survey and Mapping, as-well-as the new fields of remote sensing and spatial information systems.

Voxler 2 from Golden Software, a complete scientific 3D data visualization and graphics program to use with Surfer.
Import data in a multitude of file types to create stunning graphics to explore the relationships between data sets. Voxler 2 can produce publication quality images. Both Voxler and Surfer use similar gridding techniques, giving you complete control of your data set's primary and intermediate calculations. Voxler adds a fourth variable to your existing Surfer XYZ data, such as resistivity, concentration, etc.
The program gives you true, full 3D power to display data in a variety of colors, views, and 3D formats: 3D rendered volumes, isosurfaces, contours, 3D slices, heightfields, orthographic and oblique images, scatter plots, stream lines, and vector plots.
Voxler 2 enhances Surfer by:
   1. Locating your Surfer 2D grids correctly in 3D space for a new perspective of your data.
   2. Creating an elevation model using heightfields (similar to Surfer's 3D surface map) of your Surfer-gridded XYZ data. Display full 3D rendered volumes of your additional component data, such as adding groundwater contamination concentration plumes, ore body models, GPR data, etc.
   3. Showing your wells in 3D on top of your gridded surface by displaying your Surfer grid file as a heightfield in Voxler. Then load your well data to show the true well paths in 3D.
   4. Adding other base maps and images to your 3D display to accurately see structures and objects in their correct elevation in relation to your gridded surfaces.
Other features include:

  • Import vector files (BLN, DDF, DLG, DXF, E00, GSB, GSI, MIF, SDTS, SHP) for increased options in generating data-rich images
  • Capture video animation to share your moving 3D models in an AVI file
  • Save time using a single script to automate Voxler and Surfer together
  • Harness the power of a 64-bit installation to access more memory
  • Import geotiffs in their real-world XY locations for increased accuracy

EVS and MVS 3D Analysis and Visualization Software For Earth Sciences
C Tech's EVS and MVS software unite advanced gridding, geostatistical analysis, and fully three-dimensional visualization tools into a software system developed to address the needs of all Earth science disciplines. The graphical user interface is integrated with modular analysis and graphics routines. The more advanced versions of the software allow these modules to be customized and combined to satisfy the analysis and visualization needs of any application. The software can be used to analyze all types of analytes and geophysical data in any environment (e.g. soil, groundwater, surface water, air, etc.).
Integrated geostatistics provide quantitative appraisal of the quality of site assessments and identification of optimal new sample locations at sites that require additional investigation. This proven technology can dramatically cut site assessment costs. Our tools improve site assessment and enhance your ability to analyze and present data for assessments, remediation planning, litigation support, regulatory reporting, and public relations.
Environmental database and data management software products such as ESRI's ArcView, ArcINFO and ArcGIS, EarthSoft's EQuIS, and Microsoft Access are also supported.
Mining Visualization System (MVS) is C Tech's flagship product for state-of-the art analysis and visualization. As its name suggests, MVS was designed from the ground up to meet the demanding requirements of underground and surface mining analysis; however, its tools are also used by civil engineers and advanced environmental modelers. MVS builds upon all of the capabilities of EVS-PRO and adds powerful new features targeted to the needs of mining engineers, mine planners, civil engineers, or geologists and environmental engineers with the most demanding requirements. Some of MVS's unique features include: 3D Fault block generation; Ore Body and Plume Overburden Modeling; Tunnel Cutting; Mine Pit Modeling; and many additional advanced features.
