Rockware - LogPlot 7

Display geotechnical, environmental, geophysical, mud/gas, and mining data as a graphic boring log.

The latest version of LogPlot offers some significant updates to previous versions. The methods for getting data into LogPlot and importing data from a RockWorks database are much easier in this version. A panel has been added to the left side of the window that lets you see all the data files and design files available in a folder. This simple addition makes it really easy to choose the files to work with.

Another significant change is the ability to directly access a RockWorks database where you can open, display and compile any borehole data directly without going through an import step. All the boreholes in a database are listed and you can choose one or more to use in LogPlot.

The LogPlot Designer offers almost unlimited flexibility for log. Twenty-two log designs are provided so you seldom have to start from scratch with a log design. Field data can be entered into the Data Editor using the keyboard, copy/paste, data collection, and/or import tools. Multiple libraries of soil and rock types are included and can be customized.

Other revisions include the following:

· Well Construction columns have automatic caption labels with lines or arrows.

· Automatic scaling of curve and bar graph columns, based on data range

· Adjust curve min-max scaling for specific depth intervals

· Add depth-specific comments within lithology descriptions

· TVD Scalebars can be shown in depth or elevation.

· Include background fill in bar graphs

· Horizontal & vertical alignment, transparent & opaque options for static and linked header/footer text

New tools have also been added to the program and include:

· Undo added to the Log Design window.

· The LAS import tool offers resampling of the curve data.

· The Excel import tool can import data for more than one borehole from a single XLS file.

· Import RockWorks lithology and stratigraphy types directly from the MDB database.

· Raster exports (TIFF, PNG, etc.) of the entire log as a single page.

· Compile multiple data files at once.

· Define the number of units to be displayed on each log page

A free LogView program is available so logs can be sent to clients for viewing and printing. You can also create HTML log pages or several types of image files.

RockWorks v14.

RockWorks offers numerous options for analyzing subsurface data, and accepts many different data types, such as stratigraphy, lithology, downhole data, fracture data and hydrology and aquifer data. The latest RockWorks version has numerous new features, including an MDB borehole database, an interactive log designer, graphic editing tools, and much more. An entirely new data table has been added to the Borehole Manager database, for entry of downhole data sampled over depth intervals at a specific date (and time).

RockWare GIS Link 2

The new RockWare GIS Link v.2 allows you to generate RockWorks cross-sections, profiles and fence diagrams using ArcMap and RockWorks14. Version 2 includes striplogs, contour maps (ground surface and structural elevations), and isopach maps.

Features of this software include:

· Import RockWorks borehole locations as a layer in an ArcMap geodatabase.

· The RockWare GIS Link toolbar installs into ArcMap.

· Create Profiles and Sections using the RockWorks2006 engine and any of the following data types: StripLogs, Lithology, Stratigraphy, Interval(I)-Data and Point(P)-Data.

· Create 3D Fence Diagrams using the RockWorks2006 engine and any of the following datasets: StripLog, Lithology, Stratigraphy, I-Data and P-Data

· Create line- or color-filled contour maps of ground surface elevations or formation tops. The resulting map is displayed as a DXF layer in ArcMap

· Create isopach maps of individual formations or adjacent stratigraphic layers.

· Create 2D striplogs for individual borehole locations, with all available data options.
