December 2011 / January 2012

Rugged Computers And High Tech Devices Popular In Mining Industry - Anyone who has spilled a cup of coffee on their computer keyboard or tripped over the power cord of their notebook computer knows how fragile the normal business computer is.  Yet, thanks to the technology of ruggedizing computers and other high tech devices, portable computers are now out on the frontiers of the mining industry.

American Industry A Bigger Investor In Low Carbon Energy Than The Federal Government - Although the federal government and Obama like to showcase their investments in eliminating greenhouse gases and developing low carbon emitting energy, the evidence shows that their talk is just that – just hot air.  The government is just a bit player in the field.

Letting Nature Clean Up Contaminated Sites - There was a time when the only way to clean up contaminated soil was to dig it up and send it to a toxic waste dump, where it was isolated from the groundwater with geomembranes. Today, however, more and more contaminated soil is being treated on site with a technique called Phytoremediation.  Phytoremediation uses plants to clean up contaminated soil.
